Why is an eye test important?

A full eye examination checks the health of your eyes and will detect any early signs of problems which can be treated early. Also you vision will be check to see if any improvement can be made.

How often should I get my eyes tested?

We recommend that you have an eye examination once every 2 years, however this could be more frequent depending on your medical history or age, our optometrist's will advise when you will next be due at the end of the eye examination.

Do I pay for my test?

The NHS will grant you a FREE test once every 2 years, and help towards the cost of spectacles, if you fall within any of the following categories :-

Aged under 16
Aged under 19 but in full time education
All aged over 60
Receiving Income Support, JSA, ESA or Pension Credit Guaranteed Credit
If you have Diabetes or Glaucoma, or if you are aged over 40 and a direct relative has Glaucoma
If you have a complex prescription
Our reception staff will confirm your eligibility upon booking your appointment.

A private eye examination is £33.00.

What age can my child have a test?

Children's eyes are constantly changing as they grow, and it is recommended to have their eyes tested regularly to make should they have no health problems. We recommend children from the age of 4 can have a test, or younger if you are worried about any problems.

Can I pay for contact lenses by direct debit?

Yes, this is the easiest method of paying for your contact lenses, and you will also receive other benefits such as free contact lens check ups, 20% off spectacles and 10% none prescription sunglasses.

How soon can I make an appointment?

We are open Monday to Saturday and have a clinic every day, so we aim to see you as soon as convenient for yourself.

How long does it take to get my glasses?

Depending on your choice of spectacle frame and prescription lenses, the average timescale is 7 - 10 working days, however this may be much sooner. We also have a Optical Lab on the premises (Lincoln only) so we are able to complete most single vision spectacles with in 1 hour!
